11A - Idea Napkin No. 1

·      Me: I’m Matt Roof, a business student at the University of Florida. I pride myself in my ability to adapt to all situations I’m put in and excel. I have exceptional people skills and seem to have an easy time convincing people to agree with me. With the concept I have created (An app or service that allows individuals to proceed with a specific set of questions for different situations in order to gauge the severity of medical emergency) I hope to change the lives of many people, including my own. I want to specifically target the 18-25 age group as this seems to be a demographic in which many misjudged situations cause fatality, however, I believe this product could be great for the population as a whole.

·      What am I offering to customers?: I would be offering a service (most likely in the form of an App) to customers who need assistance with assessing the severity of medical emergencies. There are many situations in which the fear of medical expenses or being reprimanded by the law for substance abuse has caused people to convince themselves that they aren’t in immediate danger and avoid going to the hospital.

·      Who am I offering it to?: I think that this product would be widely accepted across many different demographics. Anyone who isn’t really too informed on medical situations would suggest an unmet need that would hopefully be quenched by this product. The most viable demographic would most likely be those around the 18-25 age group. I think this is where a lot of uncertainty comes into play regarding dangerous situations with physically straining events as well as substance involved events. People around this age group are also very inclined to make the wrong decision.

·      Why do they care?: They would care about this because it would be a very easy and safe way to give people a little more certainty in their decisions regarding medical emergency and increase safety.

·      What are your core competencies?: We would largely expedite the process in deciding whether or not to seek specialists for medical situations.

I think all of these elements are important questions to ask in evaluating a business concept. I think they were all relatively easy for me to answer in regards to my concept which makes me believe that they all tie in nicely with this app. Through more thought of the concept and these elements as a whole I think it will help to smooth out some of the potential issues associated with it.
